Watch: Jessie J performs Whitney Houston classic on Chinese reality show!

Jessie J has been taking part on a Chinese reality show.

The star took part in The Singer, which sees established artists compete with one another to win.

In this episode, Jessie J went up against Taiwanese singers Sam Lee, Angela Chang as well as Chinese rocker Wang Feng.

In this show, the singers have to choose a song that they haven’t actually wrote themselves, with Jessie choosing the classic ‘I Have Nothing’ by Whitney Houston.

The singer then went on to explain why she picked the classic 90s track, telling the crowd that she looks up to Houston. She also went on to tell the story of how she was in the same hotel in Los Angeles as the performer when she tragically passed away in her hotel room bathtub in 2012.

“Unfortunately I was in the same hotel when she passed, and I want the Chinese audience and everyone else who is going to see it around the world to know, one how much I love Whitney Houston and two, to see how hard I push myself vocally,” she said.

Jessie is no stranger to reality TV contests either, having appeared on The Voice UK and The Voice Australia as a coach but it’s a new one for us to see her as a contestant on one.

Oh and by the way it was Jessie J who ended up winning the episode!
