Elton John announces his retirement from touring

Elton John has announced his retirement from touring.

The 70-year-old singer will do his final tour dubbed the Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour before calling it quits. Tickets will be available on 2nd February 2018 with the tour lasting three years.

“I always thought I was going to be like Ray Charles, BB King – on the road forever,” Elton said during a press conference.

“My priorities have changed. We had children and I changed our lives. That doesn’t mean to say I’m not going to be creative. but I’m not going to travel.”

Elton also took time to clear up the rumours about his health.

“Last year I picked up an infection and I was very ill and it knocked me sideways. But I still did 96 shows,” Elton said.

“Believe me – if you ever do 300 shows, you’re not in ill health.”
